ZMan Blog #1: Charge Schedule Release 2022-23

Official Release | September 6, 2022

OK, so I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad news, which do you want first? Well, like it or not you’re getting the bad news up front.

Labor Day has come and gone, which means for the most part, summer is in the rearview mirror. BUT, the good news is that also means that the Cleveland Charge season schedule has been released and the Wine and Gold will be returning to the Wolstein Center floor in a little less than two months. Yes!

So, for a little taste of what to look for this season, I present to you the Scott Zurilla “A Little Taste of What to Look for This Season” Cleveland Charge 2022 /2023 season schedule preview.

For openers ( see what I did there ? ) the Charge begin the season on Friday, November 4th at home against the Motor City Cruise. Ironically, the two teams will also close the regular season in Detroit on Friday, March 24th.

The Charge will play 10 home weekend games, 5 on a Friday, 4 on Saturday and 1 Sunday afternoon affair. The longest home-stand includes 5 games and runs for 16 days from 11/29-12/12.

There are 12 back to backs scheduled, including 6 at the Wolstein Center, 3 on the road and 3 home-road sets.

In an effort to cut down on travel, there will be 12 times the Charge play the same opponent in back-to-back games, including 6 times at home.

The Charge will play the Windy City Bulls 5 times, which is the most of any opponent, 3 there and 2 here.

The longest road trip of the season will be pretty much right out of the gate, 8 days from 11/8-11/15 at Wisconsin and at Grand Rapids. And speaking of travel, the Charge will also spend 7 days in California the first week of March at Stockton and Santa Cruz, 4 days in Canada for a 2-game set vs. the 905 (yes, my passport is up to date), while also heading out west for the annual Las Vegas Showcase for 2 games from 12/19-12/22. And for mileage junkies out there like me, the farthest opponent for the Charge will be Santa Cruz at 2,515 miles away, while the Motor City Cruise are the closest opponent at just 169 miles.

And if you’re wondering when the team gets a breather, the final game before the All-Star break is Wednesday, February 15th at home vs. South Bay, while the break itself runs from 2/16-2/21, returning to action Wednesday the 22nd at Greensboro.

So, there you go, a quick glimpse of what’s to come for the Charge this season. Hope to see you at the Wolstein Center, it promises to be another fun season.

Oh, also, I’m gonna need that bigger suitcase…
