Cleveland Charge 2021-22 Training Camp Roster

By Cleveland Charge Staff /October 23, 2021

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Charge of the NBA G League, downtown Cleveland’s newest professional sports team playing home games at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center, have released their full 15-man training camp roster for the 2021-22 NBA G League season.

The roster consists of two Two-Way Players, three affiliate players, three from local tryouts, two acquired via trade, two returning players, and three selected in today’s NBA G League draft.  The team will begin their training camp at Cleveland Clinic Courts in Independence, OH on Monday.

Five players who spent time with the Cleveland Cavaliers in training camp join the Charge: Tacko Fall & R.J. Nembhard as Two-Way Players and Mitch Ballock, Kyle Guy & Justin James as affiliate players.  For returning players, Charles Matthews was with the Charge in last season’s NBA G League 15-game season in Orlando and Malik Newman comes back to the team after spending last season in Turkey & Israel.  A trio of players landed their spot in training camp via local tryouts: Garfield Heights graduate Willie Jackson, Dayton’s Jordy Tshimanga & guard Jimmy Whitt.  Josh Huestis comes to camp after being acquired in a trade yesterday, while Tre Scott also came to the Charge via a trade with Salt Lake City this offseason.  Rounding out the roster are the team’s draft picks from earlier today: guard B.J. Taylor was taken with the 16th overall pick, Cleveland Central Catholic alum Montell McRae was taken with the 27th overall pick, then guard Jack Pagenkopf was taken with the 44th overall selection.
