Charge Trio Repping the Wine & Gold In Summer League

By Sean Wyatt | July 11, 2019

Three Charge players from the 2018-19 season – Malik Newman, JaCorey Williams & Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman – have been on the road with the Cavs during their two NBA Summer League stints this offseason.  The boys got three games in Salt Lake City before heading to Vegas for the league’s annual summer showcase of young talent.

Malik was hot off the jump in Salt Lake City, hitting 50% of his attempts from the field over three games.  In a reserve role off the bench, he averaged 10.7 points and 0.7 steals in just 15.3 minutes per game.   Newman made the most of every second out on the floor by maximizing on his open shot opportunities and finding the right spacing on the floor.

MAAR has found himself in the right place at the right time to hit some big shots over the course of Summer League play…

…While JaCorey put on a show for the fans in Salt Lake City.

In Vegas, things got real familiar, real quick when Newman & Williams were on the floor together as evidenced by this sweet dish & slam.

JaCorey has been doing more than just working in the rim in Vegas, averaging 4.3 rebounds and making plays that easily have the full gym on notice.

Stay tuned to the NBA Summer League schedule as the boys in Wine & Gold will wrap things up this weekend when tournament play begins!
