Charge Split Home Pair With Delaware

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Charge (5-19) of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic, defeated the Delaware Blue Coats (17-7), 147-137, to split a pair of back-to-back home games at the Wolstein Center.

Cleveland enjoyed their best offensive half of the season the first 24 minutes, scoring a season-high 79 points on 66% from the field as a team and 11-of-16 three pointers.  Cam Young & Justin James each scored 19 points for the Charge in the first half as they were able to hold a 79-65 lead at the break.  The Charge’s 44 second quarter points tied a franchise record set almost 10 years ago to the day against the Erie BayHawks (3/17/12).

The Charge led the entire second half and by as many as 22 points en route to their highest scoring game of the season.  Cleveland finished 19-of-28 from three-point range for 68%, good for the best percentage in a game in franchise history.  Cam Young scored a game-high 37 points on 14-of-23 from the field with five rebounds and five assists in 38 minutes.  Justin James had an all-around effort of 29 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in 38 minutes.  Tacko Fall had his 11th double-double of the year by scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 boards with two blocks in 25 minutes.  Jawun Evans added 22 points and five assists in 30 minutes off the bench.  Wes Iwundu rounded out the double-digit scorers with 15 points and six rebounds in 32 minutes.

Delaware’s Shamorie Ponds led his team with 29 points and two steals in 24 minutes off the bench.  Aaron Henry added 22 points and seven assists in 33 minutes off the bench.  Jared Brownridge scored 20 points in 26 minutes for the Blue Coats.
