Charge Set Opening Day Roster

Official Release | November 1, 2018

The Canton Charge, powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, today announced their final 12-man roster for Saturday’s season opening game on the road against the Wisconsin Herd at 8:00 p.m.

“We had an incredibly competitive camp this year which made for some very difficult decisions in figuring out who to keep,” said Director of G League Operations Brendon Yu.  “Now we feel like we have a very good team and I am excited to see us play this year.”

The team waved G/F Jaron Hopkins, G ShawnDre’ Jones, F Freddie McSwain, G Kevin Olekaibe and F Jarrid Rhodes to get down to the final 12.  The roster consists of a pair of two-way players, a pair of local tryout attendees, four affiliate players and four returning players.  The average age on the roster is 24 years and four months.

“We have a talented group who have been working extremely hard both mentally and physically to get to this point,” said Head Coach Nate Reinking.  “Now we get to see how everything translates on the court when we get to suit up together and play an actual opponent this Saturday.”
