Charge Set 2016-17 Opening Day Roster

Official Release | November 10, 2016

The Canton Charge, powered by the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, have waived guard Chip Armelin, guard Chris Crawford, and guard Anthony Odunsi.  Forward Jonathan Holmes has also accepted a buyout of his contract by FC Barcelona.  With those moves, the Charge will have 10 active players and one inactive player on the opening day roster.

The roster consists of six returning players, three draft picks, one open tryout player and one affiliate player. Last season’s NBA D-League Rookie of the Year, Quinn Cook, highlights the list of returning players that include Mike Dunigan, Jon Horford, Justin Johnson, Kevin Olekaibe, and Mike Williams.

Eric Moreland was in training camp with the Cavaliers and came to Canton via the affiliate player rule.  Local Kent State product Chris Evans made the roster after attending open tryouts in Canton.  Three of the five players selected in the Charge’s 2016 draft class are on the opening day roster, including 19th overall selection Roosevelt Jones, fourth round pick Stedmon Lemon, and sixth round selection Trey Davis.

The Charge open the 2016-17 regular season on the road against the Grand Rapids Drive on Friday, November 11th at 7:00 p.m.
