Charge Ousted in Wisconsin

OSHKOSH, WI – The Cleveland Charge (1-6) of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic, were defeated by the Wisconsin Herd (6-3), 121-113, at the Oshkosh Arena on Wednesday night.

R.J. Nembhard scored a career high 36 points to lead all scorers plus grabbed 11 rebounds and dished eight assists in 36 minutes.  Mitch Ballock also set a new career high with 23 points on 7-of-10 shooting and 6-of-9 from three-point range with six rebounds in 28 minutes.  Tacko Fall posted a double-double of 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting with 10 rebounds and three blocks in 27 minutes.

Trailing 27-24, the Charge exploded for 38 points in the second quarter on 59% shooting as a team and 6-of-8 from three-point range.  Led by 11 points each from Nembhard and Huestis in the period, Cleveland pulled ahead 62-55 at the break.  The Charge’s Ballock scored 11 of the team’s first 13 points of the third quarter to help the visitors to their largest lead of the game at 75-63.  Wisconsin’s Jalen Lecque ended the third scoring 10 of his team’s last 12 points on a 12-2 run that pulled the hosts back ahead 87-85.  In the fourth, this time it was Rayjon Tucker with the big quarter as he had 10 points to help close it out.

Lecque finished with 25 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in 34 minutes to lead Wisconsin.  Tremont Waters added 22 points on 6-of-15 from three-point range with seven assists and three steals in 30 minutes.  Jemerrio Jones added nine points and 15 boards with five assists in 31 minutes.  The Herd have won all three matchups against the Charge in Wisconsin this season, with the two division rivals meeting once in Cleveland on March 11.
