WILMINGTON, DE – The Canton Charge (21-27), got their third consecutive victory in a 104-97 triumph over the Delaware Blue Coats (19-28) on Monday night.
From nearby Philadelphia and playing in front of friends & family, Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman led the Charge with a season-high 24 points on 9-of-13 from the field and 6-of-9 from three-point range in 36 minutes off the bench. The Charge as a team had their best three-point shooting game of the season, hitting 59%. Levi Randolph posted his fourth straight game with a double-double, netting 22 points and grabbing 12 boards in 34 minutes. JaCorey Williams scored 19 points in 42 minutes. Cleveland Cavaliers two-way players Deng Adel (15 points, five rebounds) and Jaron Blossomgame (24 points, seven rebounds) both saw action in tonight’s win.
The Charge missed their first eight shots of the game before nailing 8-of-16 the rest of the way to take a 19-16 lead after the first quarter. Canton’s Abdur-Rahkman scored 11 of his 16 first half points in the second quarter and helped the visitors open up a lead that grew to as many as 16 points. Canton held a 52-38 lead at the break with a defensive performance that held the hosts to 13-of-41 shooting (32%).
The Charge’s advantage was furthered to as many as 25 in the third quarter thanks in part to Randolph’s 17 points & five boards in the period on 6-of-9 shooting. The Blue Coats got 18 of Shake Milton’s team-high 26 points in the fourth quarter to get within Canton never trailed the rest of the way to improve to 9-4 since the All-Star break and grab their first win in three games versus Delaware this season.
