CLEVELAND – To kick off the basketball season and the NBA G League's Fan Fest weekend, the Cleveland Charge and Cavaliers Youth Sports teamed up with Achievement Centers for Children’s Adaptive Sports programs to present a Back to Basketball clinic at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse last Saturday.

With the encouragement of the youth coaches, the twenty participants went through various stations to strengthen their basketball skills. From dribbling to shooting, and even a little conditioning, smiles beamed, and buckets were drained. The players even more excited to receive a special appearance from new head coach, Dan Geriot, and his staff to conclude the clinic.

The Achievement Centers for Children’s Adaptive Sports program's mission is, “to empower children and adults with disabilities and their families achieve their greatest potential”.  The programs allow these individuals to enjoy playing sports, while helping to build their self-confidence, skills, pride, and friendships. The Adapted Sports program includes year-round opportunities with Wheelchair basketball, football, basketball, soccer, baseball, and many more activities.

The first annual, league-wide Fan Fest presented by Wilson, NBA G League teams across the country hosted family-friendly activities which included youth basketball clinics, activities, and special appearances from players and coaches. As part of this event, the league activated an online search for the “Most G” fans, allowing fans nationwide to show their support as their team’s biggest fan!
