Charge Finish Showcase Cup Qualifying

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Charge (6-6) of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic, had their four-game home winning streak snapped by the Motor City Cruise (8-4), 138-106, at the Wolstein Center on Friday night.  The Showcase Cup qualifying portion of the season is now completed, with the Charge heading to Las Vegas December 19-22 to play a pair of games in the 2021 NBA G League Winter Showcase.

The Charge were led by Malik Newman’s game-high 28 points on 6-of-12 from three-point range with eight assists and four steals in 28 minutes.  Tacko Fall posted a double-double of 26 points and 10 boards with five blocks in 29 minutes.  Justin James added 17 points, seven rebounds and a pair of steals in 35 minutes.

Leading 68-54 coming out of the break, Motor City outscored Cleveland 41-20 in the 3Q to take control of the game.  Luka Garza scored 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting with seven rebounds in 31 minutes on assignment from the Pistons.  Jamorko Pickett scored 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting with seven boards in 37 minutes.  Derrick Walton Jr. (13 points, 10 assists) and Deividas Sirvydis (17 points, 10 rebounds) both added double-doubles for the Cruise.
