Charge Fall in Regular Season Opener

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Charge of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic, were defeated by the Capital City Go-Go, 106-95, to begin the regular season portion of the NBA G League schedule.

Fresh off a call-up from the New Orleans Pelicans, Justin James led all scorers with 27 points in 32 minutes while also tallying five rebounds and two steals. Malik Newman followed with 22 points, five boards and two assists. Tre Scott held down the paint with a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with eight points in 33 minutes of action. Josh Huestis rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 points and six boards, shooting 50% from the floor.

Jaime Echenique paced the Go-Go with 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting with nine rebounds in 34 minutes.  Jordan Schakel added 20 points and seven boards in 38 minutes.  Capital City led wire-to-wire throughout tonight’s game and took advantage of high percentage opportunities by scoring 68 points in the paint.
