OSHKOSH, WI – The Cleveland Charge (6-5) of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic, had their four-game win streak snapped by the Wisconsin Herd (8-2), 110-107, at the Oshkosh Arena on Sunday afternoon
Cleveland Cavaliers assignment Dylan Windler led all scorers with 26 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 37 minutes. Two-Way Player R.J. Nembhard added 20 points with nine assists, four steals and six rebounds in 33 minutes. Justin James came off the bench to score 21 points on 6-of-17 shooting in 29 minutes for Cleveland. Tre Scott added 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists in 37 minutes.
The Charge raced out to a 31-24 lead after the first thanks in part to sharing the ball for eight assists on 11 made field goals, with Windler’s nine points on 3-of-4 from distance leading the way. Wisconsin began the second on a 10-2 run and limited the visitors to just 7-of-21 shooting overall (33%), ultimately outscoring the Charge 38-23 to take a 62-54 lead into the break.
Windler had the hot hand again in the third, scoring 11 points in the period to lead all scorers and help the Charge pull within 87-84. The two teams went back-and-forth for four lead changes and four ties in the fourth quarter. The Herd found an advantage in the paint, outscoring the Charge 16-2 on high percentage opportunities in the final quarter and held Cleveland scoreless for the final 1:49 to grab the victory.
Wisconsin was paced by Lindell Wiggington’s double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds in 28 minutes. Rayjon Tucker and Jalen Lecque each scored 17 points for the Herd. Wenyen Gabriel added 15 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in 34 minutes.
