Blue Coats Run Past Canton

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Canton Charge (2-4), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, were defeated on the road by the Delaware Blue Coats (2-4), 113-94, at the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night.

In his debut after being acquired via trade yesterday, Jaron Blossomgame led Canton with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench. JaCorey Williams had his fourth consecutive 20+ scoring game by netting 20 on 6-of-12 shooting with four boards in 20 minutes off the bench.  After a Scoochie Smith bucket on the first possession of the game, Delaware scored 12 straight points that saw them take the lead for good.

The Blue Coats got a double-double of 13 points and 15 rebounds out of Cameron Oliver in 27 minutes off the bench.  Haywood Highsmith poured in 19 points on 5-of-8 from three-point range plus six boards in 32 minutes.  Jared Brownridge chipped in 18 points in 24 minutes.  Delaware hit 12-of-19 form the field and 6-of-12 from three-point range in the first quarter and built up a lead by as many as 19.

Scoochie finished with 10 points, six rebounds and eight assists in 32 minutes for Canton.  Bonzie Colson II hit 5-of-10 from the field and scored 15 points in 27 minutes.  Kobi Simmons scored 11 points and Billy Preston scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds in 25 minutes.
