Cook & Moreland Named All-Stars

Official Release | February 6, 2017

Canton Charge guard Quinn Cook and forward Eric Moreland were named NBA Development League All-Stars, the league office announced today.

Reigning NBA Development League Rookie of the Year Quinn Cook currently ranks second in the NBA D-League in scoring, averaging 25.8 points per game, while dishing 6.1 assists (7th overall) and grabbing 4.1 rebounds in 38.8 minutes (3rd overall) per contest.  Cook has started all 30 games for the Charge this season.

Cook set a Canton Charge franchise-record on December 7, 2016 when he scored 49 points at home versus the Texas Legends.  Cook’s 49 points came on 15-of-21 shooting, including 4-of-5 from three point range and 15-of-16 at the charity stripe.  In addition to his 49 points, Cook dished 11 assists in 42 minutes of action.  Entering Wednesday’s matchup with Long Island, Cook has one triple-double and three double-doubles on the season.  Today’s selection marks Cook’s second in as many years.

Charge forward Eric Moreland currently ranks third in NBA Development League with 15 double-doubles on the season.  In 24 games (22 starts), Moreland is averaging 13.0 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 32.3 minutes per game.  Moreland’s 11.7 rebounds per contest rank second in the NBA Development League and his 2.3 blocks per contest currently rank fourth.

Moreland has etched his name into the Charge record books on multiple occasions this season.  In a 124-95 victory over Greensboro on December 28th, Moreland grabbed a Canton franchise record 22 rebounds in 36 minutes of action.  On January 14th, Moreland scored a season-high 28 points while grabbing 18 rebounds vs. the D-Fenders.   Moreland’s 17 defensive rebounds in Los Angeles set another franchise mark.  Moreland continued his onslaught on the record books when he set the franchise mark in blocks with seven at Maine on January 19th.
