The NBA G League and Nike today unveiled the new home/road uniform sets for all 26 teams. The Canton Charge will wear white uniforms at home for the first time ever to go along with their wine road sets that will be worn when the Charge tip off the 2017-18 campaign at the Greensboro Swarm on November 4th.
Canton’s new home sets share elements from the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Association edition uniforms – a white base with the same wine and gold trimmed numbers and player name font. The home jersey features the Charge script across the chest and wine and gold side inserts. The new Charge road uniforms also have the same numbers and player name font but also feature the city script and navy accents in homage to Cleveland’s Icon edition uniforms. Both sets of game shorts feature a Charge logo on one side and a Cavaliers logo on the other.
“Our guys have the NBA talent that they work on every single day and they deserve to look the part,” said Head Coach Nate Reinking. “These look and feel like the new Cavs uniforms – sharp, fast and clean. Our fans and players are going to love them.”
In line with how the League’s partnership with Gatorade focuses on performance, the new NBA G League x Nike uniforms were designed with the players in mind. The light & breathable fabric from top to bottom was engineered with special attention to enabling agility and range of motion. The most significant advancements were to the scapula line around the shoulder blades and hemline on the bottom of the shorts.
“You can tell that they were definitely designed with the athlete in mind,” said Cavaliers forward John Holland, who is a two-way player that will be spending time in both Cleveland and Canton this upcoming season. Holland continued, “they’re so light and simple that you don’t really notice them at all – which is a good thing for when you’re playing in a game.”
The uniforms are also marked with new branding from the NBA G League on the left chest and back shoulder of the jerseys as well as on the right hip of the shorts. Fans will be able to purchase replica NBA G League x Nike jerseys for $70 each beginning in November on NBAGLeagueStore.com.
Single game tickets along with the complete 2017-18 Canton Charge promotional schedule will become available this Monday, October 23rd at 10:00 a.m. For 2017-18 Charge Nation Memberships, offseason events, game day promotions and up-to-date information, head to CantonCharge.com or call 866-444-1944.
